Instructions on how to do Bottle Slumping

1. Cover bottle with paper towel and masking tape
2. Flatten clay while turning over clay, make sure it is even roughly 1cm thick.
3.Trim edges of clay slab.
4. With the unused pieces of clay make 2 sausage shapes and place either side of the bottle to stop it rolling, then place on the clay slab.
5.bMold clay around half of the bottle.
6. Make 4 crosshatches on the body of the molded clay bottle.
7. Make 4 squeres out of the unused clay and crosshatch the bottom of each one.
8.Then place on the crosshatched places on the clay bottle.
9. Leave the bottle mold to go bone dry (2-3 days).
10. After left till bone dry place bottle in mold again and fire the kiln to 1100c.
11. Place the bottle and mold in the kiln and wait until the bottle has slumped into the mold.
12. Leave the slumped bottle to dry in the mold.
13. Your bottle should be finished and slumped.
